New Ariel Pink/R. Stevie Moore album

It hasn't gotten much press whatsoever, and that may be because of the controversial nature of the title, "Ku Klux Glam," but here are 33 tracks off of the Ariel Pink/R. Stevie Moore collaboration album. The full album is available at Moore's website, which I will post below. The full album has 61 songs and was released on the 12th of February.

For those of you who don't know, R. Stevie Moore was Ariel Pink's mentor in the home recording music scene. Moore has been around since the 70's and has over 200 albums out, most of which he has produced in his own home. He is called the godfather of home recording and has had an incredible amount of direct and indirect impact on the music scene. He began recording on four-tracks, has experimented with actual studio recordings, but works in most genres. His music has a great pop sensibility, but also an extremely psychedelic and also sometimes abrasive nature. You can't say that his music follows one particular aesthetic (after all, he's got over 200 albums) but he definitely understands his music. He also plays almost all of the instruments in his music.

Ariel Pink has been recording at home since the late 90's, but came to prominence through Animal Collective's record label "Paw Tracks." After releasing several albums through Paw Tracks, he signed to 4AD, a large indie label where he released his fantastic album "Before Today" as well as his 14 minute single "Witchhunt suite for world war 3," which he released in honor of the 10th anniversary of September 11, and which he started working on on September 11, 2001 or thereabouts. Ariel Pink is working on several projects right now, but this collaboration album is one of his new great concept pieces. He is supposedly working on another album now and a movie.

You can download a 19-song version on iTunes, which was released 2.23.12 or the 61 song version on Moore's bandcamp found here:

You can also order a 2-cd version through Moore's website. A 2LP version is in the works right now.

So yeah, that's what Ariel Pink has been up to. Moore also released an album "Advanced" last year and is working on another collaboration.
